A four-star hotel at the heart of a ‘picturesque’ Victorian seaside town is for sale.
Grange Boutique Hotel in Grange-Over-Sands recently underwent a ‘substantial’ restoration and refurbishment and is now looking for new owners.
Boasting a collection of eight individual rooms, suites and apartments, the premises also has planning permission for an extension.
Marketed by Colliers with an asking price of £995,000, the estate agent said: “Currently operated as a stunning B & B, however, it can be readily adapted to operate as an investment with impressive returns, or an opportunity to open a restaurant and cocktail bar as it possesses all necessary licences.”
This ‘unique’ property, on Kents Bank Road, was built around 1870 and converted into a hotel in the 1930s.
Steps lead up to the hotel reception hall, there is a large lounge and a separate dining room with a large bay window.
The letting accommodation stretches over three floors and includes four deluxe apartments with spa baths, infra-red saunas and fully equipped kitchens plus three, individual, en-suite double rooms.
The Butterfly Suite is described as an ‘incredibly stylish’ apartment featuring ‘exquisite’ butterfly garden wallpaper, a handmade super king size four poster bed and antique Georgian wall cladding.
As well as a farmhouse country kitchen, there is a fireplace, double spa bath, infra-red sauna, and a private entrance.
There is also the ‘indulgent’ Lilac Cottage, the ‘private and peaceful’ Lovers Suite, and the Jungle Suite which opened in Autumn of 2022.
Further rooms include Cartmel, a deluxe king room, Yewbarrow an executive queen room with wild flamingo wallpaper, and a superior king room on the ground floor.
One of the double rooms is currently being used as owner’s accommodation, together with the ground floor lounge and dining room.
There is a fully equipped commercial kitchen, with commercial grade appliances, preparation room and wash up area, plus a laundry room with WC.
Outside the front of the building is a customer car park and an elevated patio and seating area.
The owners have obtained planning permission to build a single storey extension adjoining the dining room, to create a new, fifth suite. There is also a large loft space, which is currently unused.
