A team of rangers and volunteers spent three days repairing a popular Lake District path for years to come.

The Fix the Fells group has been working on the route to Lingcove Bridge in Eskdale, putting in drains and landscaping to help with erosion and encourage the regrowth of trampled areas.

Fix the Fells is a collaboration between the Lake District National Park Authority and National Trust rangers, along with a number of volunteers.

The team focuses on repairing paths on the fells, as erosion can lead to the loss of vegetation, species, and habitats.

Repairing eroding paths also reduces the amount of sediment that is washed off the fells and into rivers and lakes which is harmful to biodiversity.

Rangers have also been carrying out essential path maintenance work at Yewbarrow.
