A POPULAR YouTube and TikTok chef has created the 'official' sandwich for a Cumbrian town.
TikTok and YouTube user Big Nibbles (@bignibblescooks) came up with the idea of a 'Cockermouth sandwich' as part of a running series where he creates the 'official' sandwiches of towns and cities across the UK.
Many of his videos often take cheeky digs at the town or city in question, with this time being no different.
Speaking of the west Cumbrian town, he said: "One of the only places in the UK where if you enter it into a satnav, it asks, 'Are you sure?' Cockermouth doesn't have much going for it."
He noted its prominence as William Wordsworth's birthplace, but added that the famous poet 'presumably got so bored he invented romanticism just to cope'.
He goes on to jokingly slate the town - as he does for all areas featured in the series: "If you're guessing what's fun about Cockermouth, well, the clue's in the name."
When it comes to creating a Cockermouth sandwich, he said: "Well, as the notable thing about the place is just frequent flooding and loads of sheep, it's naturally got to have a lot of lamb and be very wet with gravy."
He assembled it in the form of a baguette 'for absolutely no reason' with watercress and pickled red onions and said it's 'so good it might even end up in the next official sandwiches cookbook'.
