A woodworking, engineering, and workshop auction has earned nearly £20,000 in sales.

Mitchell's auction house held the sale last week, featuring more than 700 lots of both modern and vintage tools.

The highlight of the auction was a Contax ride-on lawn mower with accessories, which sold for £500.

Stanley wood planes (Image: Supplied) The first item to cross the auction block will be a wooden teardrop caravan and camping trailer, estimated to sell for between £600 and £1,000.

Vintage travel enthusiasts may be intrigued by a wooden box of train and bus tickets from the early 1900s, estimated at £25-£50.

An illustrated catalogue of the sale items is available online, where buyers can also register to bid live or leave advance bids.

The auction house will display the lots in the saleroom on Wednesday from 10am to 7pm.
