WASDALE Mountain Rescue Team have rescued an injured walker who suffered a fall in the Lake District.
The rescue team assisted the injured walker, who had fallen at Mecklin Wood, Wasdale, after receiving a call from Cumbria Police on Saturday, November 2.
The walker, who had suffered a twisted leg and suspected dislocated knee was stretchered by Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team to the roadside where he was taken to hospital in a friend's car.
Writing on social media, Wasdale MRT said: " A walker has fallen, twisted his leg, and sustained a suspected painful dislocated knee.
The team arrived quickly and assessed the walker. Pain relief was administered and the injured leg splinted.
"A short stretcher carry was then made to the roadside after which it was agreed that the walker could be taken to hospital in a friend’s car.
"We wish him a quick recovery."
Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team were initially called at 2:46pm with the rescue lasting two hours and five minutes.
