COCKERMOUTH Mountain Rescue Team were called out to assist a walker who was 'unable to move due to chest pains.
The team was called out by Cumbria Police on Tuesday, November 5 to a report about a walker, who was part of a group on the summit of Rannerdale Knotts, who was suffering from chest pains.
The rescue team was dispatched and found that the walker's chest pains were caused by an existing health condition, however, the walker was able to walk themselves off the fell.
Writing on social media, Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team said: "Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team was called out by Cumbria Police after reports were received about a group of individuals on the summit of Rannerdale Knotts.
"One of the group was suffering from chest pains and was unable to move.
"Given the potential life-threatening implications of such symptoms, the Team was immediately despatched to Hause Point on the shore of Crummock Water, before heading up the fell on foot.
"When the Team arrived on scene it became apparent that the chest pains were due to an episode of an existing health condition and the casualty was able to walk themselves off the fell before the group was transported to their vehicle."
The team was initially called out at 5.30pm with the rescue lasting two hours.
