Mini police officers were out in force in Barrow to 'clean up the streets'.
Pupils from St James Junior School donned the police's hi-vis vests, caps and jackets as part of their 'community give back session' in Hindpool.
The pupils headed out onto the streets with litter pickers, bin hoops and bin bags which resulted in a dozen bags of rubbish being collected.
The twelve pupils were pictured outside the school and cleaning up in front of residents' homes.
Speaking on its Facebook, Barrow police added: "Hopefully local residents will see the difference."
The 'Mini police' is a fun and innovative police engagement programme aimed at children aged 9-11 years old.
The objective is to provide a fun and interactive way to introduce children to a positive experience of policing and to get them involved in the local community.
The Cumbrian initiative currently has 30 schools enrolled with over 600 children involved, all helping to make Cumbria a safer place to live
