West Cumbrian music lovers have a treat this Autumn as Carnegie Singers will be joined by other singers to present 'The Messiah Project'.
The concert features highlights from Handel's Messiah, traditionally associated with the run-up to Christmas, as well as favourite opera choruses.
Local soloists and a small orchestra will perform alongside the augmented choir.
Musical director Stephen Hunter wanted to mark Carnegie Singers' 50th anniversary with an ambitious community project, and thanks to grants from Cumbria Community Foundation, Dobies and Workington Town Council, he is looking forward to seeing the idea come to fruition with, appropriately, a choir of 50 voices.
The Messiah Project is at St Mary's Church, Harrington on Saturday November 23 at 7pm.
Tickets cost £12.
