A civil engineering firm established seven years ago has expanded into a new headquarters.
RC Civils, which was founded in 2016 by Stuart Ray and Brendan Cordin, has opened its new site at Mowbray Farm.
This will serve as the company's headquarters and operational hub, strategically located just 20 minutes from the Sellafield nuclear site.
The property's farmhouse will be repurposed into offices, with the outbuildings and farmyard designated for workshops and storage of equipment and materials.
Future plans include leasing office space to local businesses and pursuing sustainability initiatives, such as developing a solar farm or creating a nature restoration area through tree planting.
Co-founder Mr Ray said: "For us, it’s about more than just growing the business.
"We want to create opportunities for local people and give back to the community we’re part of.
"As we expand, we want our success to benefit the area, whether that’s through creating jobs or supporting local projects."
The civil engineering firm has previously donated time and resources to the mental health charity Growing Well by preparing groundworks for a new market garden in Egremont.
This location which will provide a therapeutic space for those in need.
Since its founding, RC Civils has expanded to a team of 15, supported by a fleet of vehicles and machinery that includes 10 vans, 10 excavators, and two wagons.
Previous major works include subcontracting on United Utilities’ 62-mile West Cumbria pipeline and a multi-million-pound contract at BAE Systems Maritime in Barrow.
There, they installed seven kilometres of multi-utility trenches to support submarine production.
Co-founder Mr Cordin said: "Our plan is to keep on growing.
"We’re excited about what the future holds and look forward to taking RC Civils to the next level while staying true to our values of quality, community, and opportunity."
