A PICTURE-perfect village in the Lake District transformed into a heart-warming scene akin to a holiday film set when celebrating its Christmas light switch-on event.
Ambleside held its annual Christmas Lights Switch On event on Saturday and welcomed people from far and wide to enjoy the seasonal spectacle.
Christmas cheer spread through the streets as a parade, featuring a jolly guest of honour, brought smiles to the faces of adults and children alike.
The village was buzzing with people who carried beautiful handmade lanterns, sipped on spiced mulled wine and tried out the Festive Photobooth - a new addition for 2024.
After the Christmas lights were turned on, onlookers were treated to a stunning fireworks display.
Besides the grand reveal, there were a range of stalls promoting local businesses.
The community festival has now been going on for over two decades and is organised and run by local volunteers.
