Coastguards were called by a member of the public who was concerned for the safety of two fishermen.
Whitehaven Coastguard Rescue Team said they were tasked on Saturday afternoon (November 23) to help their colleagues from Maryport Coastguard Rescue Team after a 999 call was received, reporting concerns for a vehicle and two fishermen on the south pier at Maryport.
A spokesperson from the Whitehaven team said the caller was concerned because strong winds and waves were starting to break over parts of the pier.
There was still around one hour until high water.
They and the Maryport team spoke with the fishermen to offer safety advice.
Coastguard Rescue Officers attended and spoke with the fishermen to offer safety advice.
