A Lake District mountain rescue team has teamed up with a local artist to sell five pieces of art in a fundraising night this month.
Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team have joined forces with Anna Owens and have commissioned five original pieces of art which will be auctioned at a fundraising night at the team's base on Saturday, November 30.
The compact oil on canvass paintings (measuring 20cm x 20cm) depict five of the iconic fells in the team's area and are mountains where CMRT frequently find themselves on rescues, searches or training scenarios.
Anna said: "The dedicated volunteers of the Mountain Rescue teams selflessly commit to proving aid, night and day, to those in need on the fells. This service is entirely funded by donations, and it is a privilege to be able to contribute towards their vital work."
On social media, Cockermouth MRT said: With kind permission of the artist, the paintings are also being used for a print run of greetings cards, which we hope will continue to generate essential funds enabling the Team to continue their crucial voluntary work in rescuing those in the Lorton, Ennerdale, Loweswater and Buttermere valleys and fells.
The auction begins at 7.30pm.
