Caldbeck Players are set to perform their latest pantomime, The Water Babies, this December.

The show, which will be staged in Caldbeck village hall, is based on the story by Charles Kingsley and features a range of characters, including a hero, a dame, and a pantomime villain.

Expect an evening of entertainment, with a mix of drama, humour, and music.

Audience participation is encouraged, promising a lively experience for viewers of all ages.

The plot follows Tom, an orphan accused of stealing a painting by the evil Mr Grimes, on an underwater journey filled with songs from water babies and encounters with strange magical creatures.

Harry Whitesmith, who plays Marra the Maryport Lobster, will be seen in a costume created by the show's producer, Robert Kenning.

The cast, which includes six adults and 18 children, has been rehearsing twice a week since the beginning of September.

The pantomime will be performed at Caldbeck Village Hall at 7pm on Thursday, December 5, and Friday, December 6, and at 4pm on Saturday, December 7.

Tickets are available from Caldbeck and Hesket Newmarket Village Shops.
