DRIVERS in and around Allerdale will have a National Highways road closure to watch out for this week.
And it is expected to cause major delays – with motorists facing a wait of at least 30 minutes.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure is due to start over the next two weeks:
• A66, from 8pm December 4 to 6am December 21, severe delays (more than 30 minutes): A66 eastbound and westbound, Lamplugh Rbt to Dubwath junction, Ring management, traffic signals and layby closure for Average speed camera works.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so their schedule will not include closures of smaller roads.
