FLIMBY'S post office is now "open all hours."
On Monday the post office began trading from 8am to 8pm seven days a week.
The Post Office used to take up the back part of M&S Stores on Wedgwood Road but now forms part of the shop's general retail counter.
Postmistress Helen Pape said the move was been in accordance with new Post Office guidelines.
The store will offer special delivery, local collect and home shopping options as well as online banking, cash deposits and withdrawals.
Anyone with a Post Office account will also be able to access a full range of services and customers will also be able to send funds abroad using Moneygram, pay bills, pre-order travel money, apply for travel insurance and top up mobile phones.
As a result of the changes, the opening hours will increase by an extra 38 hours a week.
Mrs Pape began working at Flimby Post Office about 16 years ago and she and her husband Kevin bought the shop and Post Office about 14 years ago
She said that by moving and reconfiguring the post Office it had created more space in the shop.
She said: "That will allow us to offer a wider range of products,"
The couple also run a large pet food and supplies section in a room next to the shop. A selection of these products has been brought into the main shop floor.
The Post Office will offer all the usual services including stamps, currency and postal orders.
