David Jones, director of Fusion Go in Cockermouth, has been listed among the best entrpreneurs in the country.
The annual Maserati 100 list is compiled by the Centre for Entrepreneurs to recognise the positive impact 100 entrepreneurs, or individuals who support entrepreneurs, have on society as a whole across the UK.
It was published in the Sunday Times.
The Maserati website says: "Mr Jones has worked in regeneration and economic development for nearly 20 years and helped many places and businesses grow economically and socially.
"Championing entrepreneurship across Cumbria, he launched Fusion Go, a not-for-profit company that aims to help entrepreneurs, start-ups and young businesses establish and grow by linking them into a powerful network of mentors, coaches and successful entrepreneurs."
Mr Jones said: "This is great recognition for the work we have been doing at Fusion Go with the entrepreneurs we have been supporting."
Among the others who have made it into this year's 100 are John Caudwell, co-founder of Phones4u, Paul Lindley, founder of organic baby food brand Ella’s Kitchen and Baroness Martha Lane Fox, co-founder of Lastminute.com
Mr Jones added: "The Maserati 100 award has been a total surprise but a welcome one. As well as supporting other entrepreneurs, it makes me remember that I am also an entrepreneur, forging a path to make a social impact on Cumbria."
