Figures reflecting the extent of Covid-19's spread in Cumbria and the UK have been updated.
The Government's official figures for Covid-19, updated at 4pm today, show that 55,761 new cases are being recorded daily in the UK. This brings the number of people who have tested positive since the start of the pandemic to 3,316,019.
Cumbria as a whole has recorded 3,172 cases in the last seven days, a rate of 634.4 per 100,000 people.
Carlisle saw 1,108 cases in that period, a rate of 1,019.5 per 100,000 people. Eden has seen 344 in the last seven days, a rate of 646 per 100,000 people.
Allerdale recorded 632 cases in the last seven days, making the rate of infection for the borough 646.5 per 100,000 people. The number in Copeland during the last seven day period was significantly less at 356, a rate of 522.1 per 100,000 people.
