Cumbrian NHS heroes were praised by Prime Minister Boris Johnson for their efforts in the national Covid-19 vaccination programme.
In a Coronavirus press briefing this evening, Prime Minister Boris Johnson praised Cumbrian NHS teams for their response to the pandemic.
The PM mentioned GP teams in Cockermouth as well as North Cumbria Integrated Care Foundation Trust and the NHS North Cumbria Clinical Commissioning Group.
As he addressed the nation, updating the public on vaccination efforts, Prime Minister Boris Johnson told the nation that over 90 per cent of those over the age of 80 have been vaccinated thanks the teams.
He said: "We have now vaccinated over 3.2 million people across the UK doubling the numbers of last week."
"I pay particular tribute to the vaccination efforts going on to Cockermouth in Cumbria, Yateley and Cheltnham where they vaccinated around 90 per cent of over eighties in their communities."
