AS the year ends Workington Red's Ladies seen out their final match of the year in style with a 1-0 win over Penwortham.
Hayley Bracken scored the only goal of the game with the Ladies giving a strong performance throughout, signing off a wonderful year for the team.
Head Coach Paul Mackenzie said: "2023 has been a rollercoaster year for the club with injuries playing a big part. The position has improved, and we look forward to resting over Christmas before pushing to finish the season as strongly as possible.
"Off the field, solid foundations have been established with regard to the operational side of the club and strong relationships have been forged with Workington Town RLFC, Cloud Competitions and many other local supporters.
"Behind the scenes, we are busy working on exciting new projects that will strengthen our position and so 2024 brings great excitement and anticipation to us all.
"On behalf of everyone at the club, I’d like to thank everyone that has offered us support over the year. We wish you all a Merry Christmas and look forward to building a positive future together next year."
The Ladies will now rest over the holidays, before beginning their new year with a game at Preston North End.
