Last year Ciaran Walker took home the trophy after being voted for by our readers as the Newsquest Times & Star readers player of the year - but who will take home the trophy this time round ? That's up to you!

The shortlist for the Newsquest Times & Star player of the year 2024 is:

Hooker and vice captain Henson has had another strong campaign and led the side in the absence of captain Stevie Scholey for the last quarter of the season. All action, all commitment and a constant threat from dummy half with 11 tries this season.

Jake Bradley

Second row Bradley has established himself as one of the best backrowers in the division and has gone from strength to strength becoming a Town regular, strong ball carrier, brave and highly technical skills and with nine tries from second row makes Jake a standout this year and worthy of recognition.

Zarrin Galea

After joining midway through the season he managed to finish third in the tries scoring stakes, a real find the Maltese international has found his feet quickly and excelled at full back when Jordan Burns was called into half back. Galea is solid under the high ball and lightning quick and we will look forward to seeing more from Zarrin in 2025.

Jordan Burns

Jordan has had another strong year with seven tries and seamlessly stepping into the halves saw an upturn in Town's fortunes. He has shown his all-round versatility with strong performances at centre and his usual full back position.

Another superb campaign from the hugely popular JJ Key, a workhorse and try scoring threat due to his energetic support game his game awareness and skillset have made him a Town favourite, after only two years pro RL experience JJ Key is now one of the first names on the sheet.
