WORKINGTON TOWN have thanked long-standing servant to the club Neil 'Gus' Frazer for his 'service on and off the pitch' as they announced a new coaching approach for the side in 2025.

Neil Frazer joined the club in the early 2000's as a player before moving onto the coaching staff as assistant coach at the West Cumbrian side.

Following a season review, the club have decided to take a 'new lead coaching approach at the club' announcing the departure of the popular former player and coach in a statement last Wednesday, September 25.

Interim Chairman at Workington Town RLFC, Graeme Peers said: "After our season review we have made the decision to take a new lead coaching approach at the club.

"On behalf of the Workington Town board of directors I'd like to place on record our thanks and appreciation for the efforts of our lead coaching team Anthony Murray and Neil Frazer over the last two seasons.

"Gus has been a member of both the playing and then coaching staff for many years and we thank him for his service on and off the pitch.

"Our new lead coaching team and support staff will be announced very shortly as we look to move on from a disappointing season and get back on track to deliver on our 2027 pledge."
