A pair of Workington-based boxers have competed in the Home Counties Box Cup 2024.
Kayla Dryden and Marshall Miller, fighting out of Workington Amateur Boxing Club, represented the North West Women's Warriors at the Box Cup which took place between Saturday, October 26 and Monday, October 28.
The Home Counties Box Cup 2024 took place in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, and aims 'to give the next generation of talented boxers an early platform to showcase their skills.
At the event, Kayla and Marshall won a silver and gold medal respectively, with the Warriors winning a collective four golds and two silvers.
Malcolm McCoy, Kayla's father was on hand to express his delight at the girl's achievements.
He said: "Both fighters would like to say a huge thank you to the Workington ABC coaches.
"They would also like the thank Donna Shaw and Chantelle Trumpet, the North West Women's Warriors coaches, Ricky Hatton's gym, and Nowhere to Hyde Gym where both girls travel to train."
The pair's success also follows from the Manchester Box Cup where Kayla won a gold medal in the 48kg class and silver in the 50kg class whilst Marshall won a gold medal in her class.
